Johnny Cat

One of the most impressive records in Rural Olympics history belongs to Jonny Rodriguez or Jonny Cat as he came to be known since one day as a 10 or 11 year old kid when he jumped down off of a Cat Loader (Caterpillar brand front end wheel loader type tractor) he had been operating and according to Jonny a drunken hay hauler just says to everyone “Hey look at Jonny Cat”. He won the Hay Squeeze contest the first twelve years he competed beginning in 2002. His winning streak ended in 2013 when he came in second. From 2002 through 2019 he won fourteen times, never finished lower than third and established event records times four times.
